Taking to the streets of Belfast!
Hey everybody!
Welcome back to my blog! Today I want to share my most recent venture with you all. Recently I decided to take myself into Belfast City to take some shots. Before I always was a bit sceptical of Belfast as I thought there were not really many places to capture, However, I do take that back as I was very wrong. Belfast is full of wonderful beautiful scenes. Cathedral Quarter is such a vibe with the little cobbled streets etc. - very picturesque!
I spotted this graffiti wall art at Exchange Place just down beside Cathedral area, I thought it was really cool and the colours were very attractive - just something I thought I'd snap to get the ball rolling and warm up my lens hehe - I would really love to watch some street graffiti being done from start to finish! I shot this in ISO 400 as there was a lot of shading from the right however the light coming in from the left really lightens the art and expresses the colours.
I went on a Saturday day and made sure the weather was going to be ok - which is anything at least dry in Belfast lol - it was very windy though which was a pain but I got through it!
This shot was just taken completely with trial and error I had seen online some photographers taking pictures like this with an object reflected off puddles of water! I think its really cool and just something a bit more interesting and different you can do with your camera and photographs to change it up! ISO 400 captured this perfectly not too dark or bright - this is quite minimalistic however, I do intend to get more reflection photography with building and larger objects!
The opening of St Anne's Square is really interesting it is in complete Symmetry and that is what stands out in this shot is the identicalness of both sides of the photo and your eyes immediately be drawing through the centre of the pillars into the Square - which can make you as an individual see what is inside!
I thought this was a really humorous sign The Dirty Onion had on display at the front of their beer garden so I took a snap off it to share with you all! I think this will stop passerby's who will be drawn in by the craic and could inevitably lead them into the bar itself lol - great Marketing by The Dirty Onion.
Again I'm really into punchy quotes and I thought this was very fitting with Belfast as yes, we have all seen it rain coming down on a sunny day in this City! This street is so fascinating from all the quirky bars to the structure and design of the buildings it is like something out of a movie - I find it 'not real life' looking and more like a painting - this is why I wanted to get a nice snap and a plus that there were blue skies in the background - however like the sign states - rain did follow!
This was one of my favourites from the day - I really love the dark alley leading into the art work it really captures the work really well and provides almost like a frame around it which again leads your eye directly down they alley to the art, and I'm not sure if you can see but along the bottom a little bird flew in to have his photo taken lol!
I want to finish the blog with this quote that I found on my adventures - "Hustle now. Sleep later"...
After my trip to Belfast City Centre and this was just Cathedral Quarter my opinion has completely changed on the aesthetics of this class City! I will defiantly be back to different spots around town that I want to capture!
Thanks for reading and I hope you have now seen Belfast in a different light also!
